Supposedly, there are no elite skills pre-ascension (or southern shiverpeaks, if you want to be picky).
From the last update you now get the "starter skills" in the second profession, but all the points you put in there are otherwise lost,...
You can start at lvl 10 but stay in if you level while winning..you'll see 16's at Yaks also.
put pacifism on 7 while clobbering the 8th....
And when the group leader calls their energy, it's a shorthand question "Is everybody's energy level ok?"

No armor has better stats than the simple 1.5K stuff from D.Forge. (But the fissure armor does let you mix sets and still have a unified look )
I actually have a theory, admittedly based on only 2 tests, that if you equip NO SKILLS AT ALL, that you always win.
