Its Tanned Hides - Wood Planks - Ectoplasm - Obsidian Shards. (For druids) Just talked to a ranger, he said they were wood planks. So its confirmed.

I was the one with the confusion.

I'd say you are wrong about the rangers, I am a ranger and ive gotten 2 purples and no rares since the last 2 updates.
