Dragon slash = godmode in PvE. Axes don't come close. Triple chop isn't bad, it's just not as balls-tighteningly awesome as dragon...
At any rate, most rit elites are just space fillers. The real reason you take a rit is for rage and splinter. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

The only reason people want a PvP/PvE split is so that they can have ridiculously overpowered crap to make blowing up drooling nincompoop monsters...
