Flashing Blades is a must have for PvE assassins, its simple. While you attack you have a 50% chance to block attacks. It makes you die slower....

You're exagerating the situation. A good assassin with Death's Charge, can teleport and kill any caster with a good 4-5 hit combo under 10...
