I myself don't see the reason why they had to nerf it so harshly... I've never really found QZ to be much of a problem.
But Invinci Monks were easily countered anyways... Any form of Energy Denial, DoT, or Enchantment removals could have killed them... A Warrior...

They're still pretty good in the Southern Shiverpeaks (when you aren;t facing Mursaat), but thr RoF is full of Mursaat, which will slaughter...
