The prices will eventually go down. Once everyone gets their heroes all set up they wont need to keep buying so many runes/insignias.

I dont think there is much they can do except make it team required but that would most likely kill those areas.
You can still make a pvp character with insignias so its not imbalanced. Its only more convenient for Nightfall owners.
