If you plan to do a full upgrade a little more than a year from now, just go with the cheapest stuff that'll play the games that will come out...

Vampiric = more risk (degen) more gain. Sundering = lesser risk (no degen) lesser gain. Zealous = for people who want to stay out of the V-S debate.

The biggest thing you get from beating NF is access to those heroes you passed up on earlier as well as a rit hero.
